As Sprint Relic noticed, I currently am using (testing) a simple door panel clip. I have one mounted on each corner of the super charger lid, and they “snap” into a homemade female receptacle. So far they seem to be holding strongly, and I’ve had the cover on and off 100 times while fabricating it.

Recently I saw a nice “quick lug” designed by @hammerfab on IG. If these clips don’t seem to be the final answer (I think they are) I think I’d machine up some lugs like they sell (basically a stud with a larger dia. tip that pushes into an appropriately sized grommet and holds together until you pull them back apart)

I get most of our automotive clips, fasteners, screws, etc. from Au-ve-co

The attached picture is just a generic type of clip similar to what I’m currently using.

Lots of ways to fasten stuff - and even more ways keep popping up.

Older motors can be cleaned up to be nice and simple.

OHC always looks good. Cross flow is nice.
..And supercharged....
(Saw a cherry old Stude GoldenHawk gliding along (July) in its Loewy splendor .... 327 supercharged.... and also a Grand Turismo, later in the month.)

Thanks Dane,
I've been on the lookout for a "Popstick/Grommet" (My Term for it) fastener. I had layed up some fiberglass interior panels and wanting them to be a low profile, I boxed myself into a corner (imagine that), the hat section support underneath only having 1/2" depth and I did not want visible screws. I ended up using rubber grommets, and 3/8 fiberglass rod tractor supply sells for supporting electric fence wire, turned a 'male appendage" on a short length of it and epoxied them though my panel, I got my inspiration from the Hammerfab fasteners. I'll know better next time.

This is the last post on the engine cover. Here I’m adding some ribs to help the flow and look of the actual supercharger lid.

Also getting a rough start on the radiator cover.

Dane,
You have done some very fine metalwork in that engine comp.
Thinking of polishing and going for anodize, like the dragster guys?

Here I was getting a rough start on the inner fenders.

Nothing too crazy, but I did want to create a “flare” out over the suspension components to help hide some of it. I kind of mimicked the exterior fender wheel opening flare.

I carved up some foam bucks to shape a left and right on. Once these flare sections where shaped up, I grafted them into the main inner fender panels.

At this point of the build, I couldn’t think of any more reasons to keep it on the build rack. I needed to get it off and set it on the ground. At that point, some motivational pics were necessary…..and then it would be time to rebuild the rocker and lower qtr. skins, lower fenders, and fit the doors. Those updates will be posted next….

I also had to see how tall my dog was next to this small car!🤣 Yes, the car is small, but my dog is tall as heck!
