Default Norm Swenson

I'm Norm and I live in Lombard, Il. Been part of MM for a few years but I haven't posted much. Presently working on a 46 Chev pu . Stretched the cab 8" and chopped the top 2". I'll try to post some pictures to show where I'm at. Right now I'm trying to make doors that are 8"longer than the old openings. It's been a real adventure so far,
I'm real excited to come to a site that really cares about metalshaping.
Thanks for starting it up.

Norm

Welcome Norm. We'll hold you to those photos. We like photoslllll Your truck is basically the same as Bennett Chapman's. A bunch of us worked on it over the years. His was stretched 2" in the doors, 4 behind the doors with a 2" chop.

Norm, Welcome to the site. I would like to see the pictures of you progress on the truck. Would be interested in seeing the details on how you stretch the doors. Thanks for joining the group.

Your right Kerry, my truck is very similar to Bennett's truck. I watched with great interest while his was being worked on. Every now and then you will see a picture of something going on in Bennett's shop and the truck will be in the background up on a lift. Has any more progress been made on his project?

He's been doing mechanical stuff of late when he gets time off from his fab business. I believe he hopes to get the engine installed this weekend. The guy who made his wiring harness has been giving him a bit of a run-a-round but he's close to driving around the block in primer stage.
