Here's a pic of the wheel tub with the outer edge that has to match the inside shape of the outer skin. This is a 45" butted gas welded seam. My longest to date.Name: IMG_20160918_152026909_HDR.jpg

Thanks Jack. I noticed the old pic from Norwalk. I used to race this car there occasionally.

Cool . I got out in 1992. That Camaro was an Alston chassis with a big block. We were doing really well the last 3 years running brackets. It would run 9.20 full out. We'd slow it down with a chip and throttle stop to around 9.90. Raced in Michigan many times at Lansing, Milan, and ... Can't think of the other track up there. It's a grueling pace when you're winning. I don't think I could physically do it anymore but I sure do miss it.

I can't hang with that pace either. Your car looks real familiar, hard to tell from tiny pic.

I absolutely love your Caddy project and how easy you make it look. Now, if I only had a private photographer like you, I might look better The wife says no, nothing will help.

Hi Mike

I know everyone has gushed over the job you are doing but I really want to congratulate you on keeping the sympathetic lines while adding your own flavour. (sp = aussie)

Keep up the great work as your car and Jack's Cadillac both have great proportions

You're a gas welding guy so you automatically get bonus points !

Cheers John

Thanks John and Rob. I'm still working on my gas welding, but have plenty to practice on. That rear wheel tub has about 4"-5" of filler where the gaps or burn thru were. The great thing about O/A is how quickly it planished up.
