Thanks very much Per. Just plugging away.
Moving forward with the grill's lower area. Piece ready to be tacked. Dad adjusting the lower features. Cleaning up the tacks. Ready for final welding.

Nick,
I like how you joined the main section of the grill shell, the lower central section and the side panels that run rearward. I had to go back to the teen numbered posts to see were you left off with the grill shell. The way the seams in that area are arranged sort of force good panel flow in an area that could be troublesome. For me it is a good lesson in how to plan joints. Thanks again for all the detailed images and clear commentary.

On a project this size I'll approach an area such as the rockers to begin unifying the front and rear of the vehicle. In this case, using an 8' sheet, the rockers started at the rear wheel opening and ended up just shy of the grill. While I kind of visualized how the front will come together, my thought was that after the grill shell gets roughed in and knowing that there needs to be a panel split at the front A-Arm area ...the car will show me the best way for the joints to flow at the front. I usually don't focus on one particular area until it's completely finished. Yes, we have drawings and while they act as a very accurate guide, we build the car, not the drawing. With this approach, if a trick idea comes along that will compliment the vehicle's looks ... it'll get some serious consideration and not brushed aside because we need to stick to the drawing . You'll see what I mean soon. I'm not talking about moving mountains, but we're playing with an interesting concept for the front grill/hood area. Thanks very much for taking the time to look at my build in such detail.

Rear 1/4 coming together.
The 1/4s' top pieces also have the inner seal trough formed ... eliminating the need to fab and weld separate pieces. Making sure that everything fits. Getting ready to scribe the panels. Similar to a large jig-saw puzzle, except in this case we can trim the edges to fit. Playing 'hopscotch' to control heat introduced into the 1/4 panel... not as easy as one may think. 1/4's welded up, metal finished and ready to have the flanges tipped. Onto the rear fascia...

Overall front 3/4 view...
...and here’s the front view with a pair of wheels I pulled off the shelf that are close in diameter to what the car will be running with. Aside from them sitting a little high(due to the box tubing cross members) it gives a pretty good idea. Still have a little metal shaping left.
