Thanks for your interest, I don't know of any documentation on how a buck should be made or if there is perhaps a traditional way of building one but there are bits and pieces around the net which give various ideas on the theme, can't remember if I searched Youtube but its worth a try.
Regarding progress. winter became a stand-still, working in the open is not good for ply. That being said I now have every thing I need to finish the woodwork side of the project, a full set of FSPs, extra FSPs that can at a later date be cut into more suitable sizes once rolling skills are gained. A full set (I hope) of contour gauges and the design of a 39" throat wheeling machine. The loan body is now stripped of registration lines and ready for the trip back to its owner. What I don't have is a workshop so that I can move on to the next stage, UK planning can be difficult and I am trying to negotiate for a 1 1/2 story triple garage with my local authority but they are not keen on large garages in residential areas.

Ron Covell's video "scratch build a fender" or something similar goes into depth on buck making. It breaks down many aspects of building a buck with hammerform aspects to match a specific shape. He thens shows you how to use the English wheel and Shrinker to make the pieces for the fender, with an emphasis on how he decides where to split the panels and then welds it all up and finishes the welds.
If you are going to make any complete panels, this video is a must have.

Thanks for the update Tom. I think most of us can relate to your lack of space problem. I hope your planning dept. lets you build.
I look forward to seeing your project take shape.

Thank you Shawn. I will get that CD. I had the chance to meet Ron Covell last weekend and have to say. He is a super nice man and was very willing to help with out a hint of ego.
