Default My first complete car body.

My first complete car body.
I was asked to make a car body. Shaping sheet metal parts on a wooden frame. The objections that I never did it were rejected.
With a small note - it's in a very hurry.

So I started.

Progress pictures when you have time.
I always like to see what you do and how you go about doing it.
Your always thinking outside the box and coming up with unique ways of getting results.

Thank you for your interest. It's all in a hurry. The body will be aluminum. I made it a condition that I would not weld it. They agreed. All you have to do is shape.
I'll do it all from large panels. Notice the small hooks that helped me draw the line for bending the side plates. I bent the plate 30mm and it will be attached to the log from below. I bent the lower bend and shaped the side plates according to the paper template exactly according to the outline of the car. I will cut the holes for the wheels only after welding.
One half of the upper part was shaped exactly to the contour.

Thank you. It's a nice job. I was originally supposed to make only fenders. But there are few hands ... so it ended with me.
11.8. it should be at the start of the race and in the paint ... and growl engine, so the race is with me too. Now it's about "who makes the mistake".

Shaping of side plates. I used large tools for aluminum. The material does not tear. I used steel tools for the edge details. They work faster.
In the combination of Eckold and EW, I rounded the edges.
I don't know if I made a mistake in carefully driving the whole panel in EW with straight wheels. To relieve stress. This will only become apparent when be the panel is precisely aligned.

Thank you, Tom. The basic shapes went well, but even more time is alignment on the ribs of the structure.
But it's already working. It's a little nervous, and I am nervous, but it works. I need to have 2 more pairs of hands and eyes. Maybe increase brain capacity ....
