More progress 6/08/09
Well its pretty much welded up now I did a bunch of hammer, dollie & slap work then some shrink disc but more to go on that part but it is feeling pretty good not perfect but quite nice. When done hopefully primer only no filler.
Tomorrow I will do a little shrink disc on the other fender then start on the front chin area into the wheel arch more fun Danny. |

I'm sitting here laughing at the table your fenders are on Dan. Mine accumulate stuff just like that
The longer the project, the deeper it gets.

Beautiful work, Dan.
My tool piles look similar also, I thought I was the only one who did that. Brent Likes |

Now guys if we did not have a well disorganized pile of tools people would think we were on TV & it magically was done in 20 minutes. Now where did I put that slapper I just used it 2 minutes ago & more to come Danny.

Danny, I have only seen 3 people that can get things accomplished while keeping the work area clean and not getting dirty themselves. They really were productive and got a lot done. I am not one of them. If there is a flat surface it is piled high with STUFF.
Those fenders are just plain sexy. Love the way you put the lights in. Great job. Thanks for posting.

Great thread Dan.The fenders came out just perfect.I really enjoyed following this thread.
Here's the secret take the pictures upstairs where your wife just cleaned. I clean my shop every sat morning and around ten o'clock in the morning my bench looks just like that.

Looking good Dan!
Wasn't it Tuck who had a workbench made from a hospital bed? Keep the tilt function and hook it up to a timer: your workbench top stays clean - once a day at least Barry |

Todays edition the Front chin
Well I am shooting from the hip on this part, I just have some taped together poster board to go off of so here we go.
First shot is the paper cut out template off of the poster board on the fender. This is the pattern paper laid out crud but it works. Here I am shrinking it in my T6 pullmax. Next I put in some planishing dies to smooth out the wreckage I mean shrinkage. Well its a blurry close up but it is getting quite smooth. It fits & pretty good I might say. A side shot. The last 3 are with a reworked test panel at the rear & a frontal shot. I still have to do some work on the wheel arch area now on to the other fender Danny |

I forgot to mention that when I planished it in the pullmax it was as smooth as a wheeled or planished hammer part Danny.
