Default 1935 Dodge Custom Street Rod

This is the beginning of a my 35 Dodge project which as usual has become far more involved than first anticipated.

Here is the artist rendering of the finished product, hopefully. The drawing was done buy one of my best friends, Henry Valdes. Henry is an architectual model builder as well as an excellent atrist.

I'm not sure if all of the details will be done such as the rear wheel skirts. I guess time and skill wil determine much of that.

The project actually began a few years ago. I began by stripping out the original running gear.

Then I removed the body from the frame so I could build a new frame.

I bought a front suspension kit from fatman fabrications and had a pair of custom framerails bent. It uses a four link rear susprnsion with coilovers.

I really like the original body style, especially that trunk and the radiator shell. I must be getting old.

Brent, I'm not really sure what they're for there was nothing behind them but the horn. Maybe someone on the site might know.

After I finished the frame I got to work on the body mods. I cross braced the body so it wouldn't twist when the roof was cut off.

The next step was to begin moving the windshield post and the door jamb back 15 degrees.

Then I made the new panels between the door jamd and firewall. These were pretty simple to make

First tacked, then finish welded.
