Well, I managed to continue a bit the last couple weeks

I did continue with the A-Pillar, adjusting the first part:

And then time to get the TIG welder out:

All welded:

And after a bit of planishing/welding:

And the heater channel adjusted:

I will be making a test fit on the pan before welding it in place, and then finish the bottom of the A-Pillar (in this order to be able to weld the heater channel correctly to the A-Pillar).

But it might be that this happens in a few months, now that the beetle works good I discovered some urgent metalwork on my 914.. (Previous owner and fiberglass.. Yes sounds bad..)

Cheers

Antoine

As I was driving the quiet streets of our little town Tuesday this week I saw a very clean restored early K Ghia pass by with the custom wheels sparkling and the light green paint very straight and glossy.

"Ah, Antoine" I thought.

So..I am back in
Well, not 100% as time is currently hard to find, so I did not start on the body yet but I am back on this project and currently working on a lot of small parts that will need to be ready (in a couple years ).
Like here, that was the start:

After some blasting:

And ready:

I also blasted my door catches, before:

And after:

Same with the second side, before:

And after:

And the door latches:

None of them are showing issues, except the one without cap which shows some play. I will need to make some search on how to correct it

Stay tuned, a lot more of these "small parts restoration" posts are coming, as I even brought some of them at home to work on them when I have a couple minutes free

Bests

Antoine

Nice work. What’s that part that looks like a mini fridge door?
