Steve, Bill and I have been discussing additional seminar/demonstration content that I will do and possibly more that we will do together.

I have two small simple projects, one in crs and one in aluminum, that I will bring to do from start to finish. Each will be done as an ongoing demonstration for the use of hand tools, project planning, paper patterns, gas welding and finishing. This will be beginner-level work, with the idea that people can watch and possibly participate as the items are being made. More looking over my shoulder while I work than a formal presentation. I’m planning to begin work on Thurs morning and work to fill space between other more structured seminars. Then we can break to attend other seminars.

Bill and I have discussed doing a seminar(s) together related to modeling and buck building, possibly including scaling parts without CAD as I have discussed in the past. For those not familiar with the overall concept of what I do, watching my recent video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjZo5DqnF3w&t=2s should help streamline understanding and any q&a.

I’m not a CAD or waterjet guy but do a lot with models in studio, so hopefully can help others with making patterns and models via basic analog methods. I’m glad to try to cover specific related content if folks have requests. We’re still working out the details on this subject, but it’s in the works.

Hope this helps.

Edit- I will bring bucks constructed using different manual methods to discuss pros & cons of each approach.

Clint

Tool exchange.... If anyone needs some quality shop tools, I have a 2' Diacro finger brake, a Pexto stake plate, and others. I can deliver to Jim's if someone wishes to purchase but would not likely drag them along if there is no interest.

Tool exchange. I almost waited to the last minute.

Here's how it works. You bring a tool that YOU made...not bought. Everyone who participates puts their tools on a table and gets a ticket. First number drawn gets to choose from the table. Second person gets the next choice. Etc.

You might get a jewel or you might get something that you think wasn't worth what yours was. That's the game live with it or don't play.

We'll do the drawing Friday after lunch.

Also, if you have something for door prizes please bring them and give them to me or Steve Hamilton.

See you next week!

Bill Tromblay, my progression through buck design and use.
Bill Tromblay, I can do one on one instruction in TIG welding, if anyone is interested.
Kerry Pickerton, 101 basics to metal shaping.
Robert McCartney, the use of tin snips. How to cut to the line the right way. (Note most people don't know how to use them correctly)
Stan Fulton aka Pullmax wizard, open to demonstrations..
Bob Baisden, How to make flexible shape patterns also known as FSP.
Dan Pate, Eckold machine and why everyone should have one...
Steve "SCOOB" Reproduce/restore Marque badges, are you willing to do a presentation on this?

Guys looking for ideas or help.

Bill Gulla, needing ideas for a model A build.
Steve "SCOOB", Looking for a seminar on getting the last 20% fitment and finishing. Gas welding aluminum. Ideas for using cast iron band saw frames for english wheels and planish hammers.
Robert Schnur, Looking for help with the manual methods of metal shaping, tuck shrinking, planishing and so on..

Anyone interested in doing these seminars^^^?

Great list so far, this really helps Steve Hamilton with setting up the seminars. If I missed something, let us know. Keep the list coming and everyone has something to share. It may seem simple to you, but your knowledge could really help some one else and that is what this event is about + the good food...

Thx

Bill
Hi,

I'm updating the list of seminars from Steve Hamilton.

Add..

Bill Tromblay. Shaping of small brass grill tines for a 1948 Talbot Lago.

Steve Pisano. Short discussion on metal prep and explain different pre treat coatings.

Lets keep adding to the list, I might of missed something, if so, please add to it.

Bill
