Default Hello from Tasmania

Hi from William in Tasmania, Australia.
Thankyou for allowing access to this forum which I hope will help further my skills and ideas.
I'm a retired fitter/machinist and still maintain a passion for machining metal in my home workshop; model engines and anything to do with motorcycles are the usual projects.
Prior to obtaining qualifications as a fitter machinist I worked in artist/craft area and was for 25 years or so a custom and orthopaedic shoemaker.
During this time I made a series of shoe sculptures that combine wood, leather and stainless steel. My interest in sculpture has been revived thanks to a friend who hosts an annual sculpture workshop. This is where and why I want to learn new techniques for metal forming.
Regards
William

Invention is a combination of brains and materials.
The more brains you use, the less materials you need.
