More work on the rear deck. I use builders paper for templates that don't have much shape to them. It's pretty durable and dirt cheap. Home Depot, about $10. or $12 for a roll.

Getting close. As you can see, I have no snobbish objections to heat shrinking. I didn't want shrinker jaw marks on this radiused edge.

Nope. But I do have a double trunk tree. That's the way I learned long before tube rollers were around.I went out to the garage yesterday to get some work done and realized the place looked like an episode of "Hoarders" so I spent the day cleaning and realized that I need just about everything that was out there. That's good because it means I'm not hoarding useless crap, but bad because cleaning up won't help much.
So, today I did manage to get some work done. I was not confident in my original plan to make the leading edge of the deck out of reinforced sheet metal. I decided to use 2" X .060 wall round tube. I bought a stick and an 8" radius "U Bend". I bent the stick to match the contour of the station and cut the U Bend tube in half to get the right shape, then welded it all up.

A quick test fit for width and height showed well. Next I need to do a lot of work in these corners where the tubing meets the inner quarters. I need to restore the rigidity lost when I removed the roof. I also have to incorporate anchor plates for roof latches in these corners.

Only have ever used the fork of a tree too! Had to used the neighbours one sometimes too since I have lost all my trees!
