Hello I'm Oliver in Sonoma county California
I have been restoring vehicles for the last 25 years as a hobby when time permitted, and now have more time but as always not enough money. I am originally English (I grew up in Coventry, the motor city) and moved to California in '91.
My interest in vehicles ends around the time 16 gauge steel pressings were no longer used, and my main focus and experience is Jaguars from mid sixties to mid 90's, International Harvester and various other mostly cars, although I do have a '57 IH Metro and a 50's Divco milk truck. I like to do everything myself and have quite a few metal working tools including an English wheel, planishing hammer, motorized bead roller and shrinker stretcher adult activity center I built myself and quite an assortment of metal bashing tools I've collected over the years. I'm also considering building a replica of a 1940's merchandiser like these https://www.servicemerchandisers.com/ and I've fabricated various other metal devices such as an electric TV lift. Looking forward to shared knowledge and hopefully contributing!

Welcome to AMS Oliver. I have had thoughts about making one of those merchandisers too. Please post if you go ahead with it.

Hi Oliver
There are a fair number of people working with metal here in northern California. I'm in Cloverdale but don't get much time to spend on the hobby. There's a lot of information in this forum. John
