I took a bit of a hiatus from the Pontiac to deal with some family issues and the health of some loved ones. To roll myself back into the groove I built a holder to go on the wall to carry my body sweeps. These were purchased from imperial wheeling machines.

The perimeter of the holder is 2X4s from an old picnic table that my neighbor was throwing out. I layed out and slotted the 2x4s while they were clamped together, with the skil saw

Here I am just laying it out to make sure everything came out relatively square. I also took a measurement on how high the #50 stuck out and trimmed the wood frame to be flush with it.

I trimmed up an old piece of scrap plywood and stained it with a dark stain

Then I hung it on the wall

Once I completed that I felt I should get back and brace up the car. I feel I am very close to the body being rigid enough to widen it. I just need to build a jig to move the center of the rear window peak out when the car is widened to maintain a linear shape.

I finally pulled the engine and transmission out of the car!

I will finish this post with this picture!

Thank you! I appreciate that! I have a ton of planning into this so far. As I have gotten into it I have reassessed and slightly modified my plans, hopefully to achieve a better result

My apologies for being a bit inactive, I have not spent a lot of time working on the Pontiac. I bought a 2 post lift and when I went to install it, I found that my slab was not thick enough for it. So this meant I had to cut a big swath out of it, dig it down and dig pilings, tamp it, rebar and the whole bit. I ended up having to do it all by hand haha. So now I have 2.5 meters of concrete poured and the lift is almost in and functioning. Hopefully I will have some updates very soon on the Pontiac, since it is almost ready to split and widen

I was finally able to cut the body after measuring and measuring and measuring. I am starting to try and support the roof sections with 16 gauge angles to the proper shape. I ran these through the kick shrinker so that they were the same radius as to what I measured out on the roof and cleco'd them in

Fter I had the center of the roof sorted out I moved onto the front, which I was the most worried about because the peak needed to move forward. It ended up not being so bad to get it to line up. I thought it was going to have to move forward way more than it did, but it was only about 3/8 of an inch, so my life will be easier when it comes time to modify the hood and grill

I was abble to spend some time to get the lower part of the back window to line up, but it will have to wait for a little while longer, I had to order more duck bill clecos
