Default hello from wales uk

Hi guys..ime stumpy from South Wales in uk found this site By accident was looking for info on building my own bulkhead on an Austin mini clubman due to rot found a mini van being rebuilt for rallying on here so had to register my own mini clubman is rotten i want to try to make as much as possibile myself i intend to fit a bigger engine as well a v tec or similaire Ive already replaced the both door pillars hinge panel and doorsteps both sides Ive chopped out the bulkhead and inner wings made a box section frame to support a larger flat top dash rail and to support the rear of. I'm from New South Wales as well, but the one in Australia and you gotta love them Minis.

On the minis they have a bulkhead x member that the front subframe volta to it hss Teo large holes through a box section 1 either side my plan is to fab a new box section 80x40mm and locate it in exactly the right position By putting a piece of hollow tube 35mm o/d through the original ends to locate the new box section and weld it together once thats done i will make a new bulkhead panel based on the new x

As you can see in this pic the position of the subframe mounting bolts on the original bulkhead x member although this had had the center chopped out for clearance for a turbo or bigger carbs but you get the idea ....
