Default A newbie from London.

Hi All, I'm Johnny and just found this fab forum, I build and engineer my own modest race cars and their air cooled engines, they are mostly, but not always VW Beetle's, my next major interest is aeronautics and how this stuff developed from string and brown paper, up to its currant level, my modest business living is earns by repairs to classic VW Camper vans. Best regards, spanners.

Welcome Johnny. Interestingly the VW engine was developed from the American Franklin automobile engine which itself was developed into an aircraft engine. Many homebuilt aircraft used VW these past 50 years for power.

Is my memory correct that the Science Museum in South Kensington has an early A.V. Roe triplane that was originally covered in brown paper?

Anyway, there's lots of great advice on this forum, so please share photos of your projects.
