Hey everyone,
I'm new to the boards and I'm excited to start exploring the knowledge bank here. I've recently started my own company, East Coast Tech, in which I offer services in CAD design, product development, project management and fabrication. Currently, my customer base is comprised of companies that have a fluctuating need for technical support. Thus, they can't justify the overhead of hiring a full time engineer. By degree I'm an ME and my previous employment has all been within the automotive/motorsports industry. Similarly, my customers fall within this industry. I've joined All Metal Shaping because I find sheet metal shaping intriguing and it is a goal of mine to tie the craft into my line of services at some point in time. When I left my full time job back in October, I was working during the day at Carolina Coach Crafters, under Ralph Brawley, as a metal shaping apprentice. The experienced I was gaining there was invaluable, however, in order to support my family I needed to take on more ECT work and had to put my apprenticeship on hold. My office is set up in an older race shop in Mooresville, NC. I share part of the space with Dan Holohan of Holohan's Hot Rod Shop. Fortunately, Dan let's me work flexible hours for him to fill time when I'm slow. Not to mention, I'm learning/gaining experience from a fantastic fabricator and metal finisher. Hopefully, sometime in the future, I can share my own projects here on AllMetalShaping.com Thanks!
