Default New guy in Wisconsin

Hi everyone,

I'm Paul and i'm new to metal work. I've done some metal casting and a bit of metal shaping, but very little. My goal is to get into working on cars (restoring/customization) as a hobby, and to start i've been doing some small projects.

The main project i'm working on is a rebody of a powerwheels jeep (yes, the kids one) in steel, to look like a Willys CJ2A. Still working on it but here are some pics:

and the fender shaping i've tried:

I have more pictures, but they aren't uploaded to google yet. I have some videos somewhere on youtube of me working on it, don't have the links at the moment.

I've also been trying to learn welding:

Still have a lot to learn but it has been fun so far. I recently got some more tools to mess around with, but haven't uploaded any pictures.

If you want to see some casting, here's the one and only picture i have:

I'm looking forward to learning metal shaping, turns out it is addicting.

-Paul

Thanks Steve! I'm in Janesville, kinda far from you I think. I have some relatives up near you, though.

Seems like my pictures didn't work, I'll try to fix that when I get home.

Thanks Cliff and Peter!

I think I fixed the photos, now you can see my newbie metal shaping and welding in its full bent up glory.

I'm also interested in doing some other kinds of sheet metal work like coppersmithing and stuff, but i haven't really tried much of that out yet. I've mainly just done the very few things in steel. The stuff I did in copper was more cut-and-fold, not so much shaping.
