Default Hello to AllMetalShaping.com

My Name is Arlyn Hammett and my home is in Rockdale, Texas. (About 60 Miles Northeast of Austin). I'm a DIY guy with experience building engines, Transmissions and Fiberglass/Gelcoat repair and fabrication. I am recently retired and new to sheet-metal fabrication but have found a need to shape metal panels for projects from time to time and know very little about how to do it correctly.

I spend most of my time these days helping my son in his custom auto fabrication shop which consists of engine building and sanding on body panels to get them ready for paint. My son does the suspension, painting etc. We are currently doing a couple projects for customers that require custom firewalls, transmission tunnels etc.

We have some equipment: Mig, Tig, 13" Lathe, Mill, Metal Brake, Shrinker/Stretcher, Bead Roller and a drawer full of body hammers & dollies. Also can spray paint, sand blast (pressure pot & cabinet) and have a 4'X4' Plasma table with 85 amp plasma and a second 40 amp plasma that's portable. Need a smaller Power Hammer (I think) and am interested in reading the DIY Threads on Power Hammers, English Wheels and Planishing Hammers.

Just need to be able to log in and read experiences and "How To" from other members. Don't know that I can contribute much.

My username is the first 6 letters of my last name and my first and middle initials.

Thanks for considering my membership & I look forward to hearing from you.
