Default Howdy from Chicago

Hello all,

My name is Sam, I live in Chicago, Illinois. I've been welding and working in the metal trades for about 8 years. Now I'm trying to start a metal art business, and I'm looking to build a reciprocating hammer, unless someone talk convince me that the convenience of a commercial one is worth the price tag.

Hi Sam, I’m new here too (my intro post is just a couple above yours, I believe). I miss living in Illinois, but I don’t miss the snow or cold weather. Metal art is awesome and looks like a lot of fun. Is your art going to be functional or the type just to be looked at and enjoyed/pondered?

I think it'll be mostly for the ponderin' but eventually I'd like to explore things that make sound, like gongs or tuning forks. Much to learn first!
