Greetings from the Harrsburg area.
I'm a total noob, in the process of gathering my tools and a stump. (You'd be amazed how hard it is to find a good stump if you don't have a chainsaw..) Rob |

Welcome Rob. Go find a tree surgeon. They can't split the stumps and will usually give them to you and perhaps even cut to length.

I'd never thought of that..
![]() I have one but it may be too short and too soft. I want an oak or a maple, and walnut would do as well. BTW- I can't wait to see more of the roadster.. I've read it all several times from beginning to present- It's going to be something speial.

You should consider going up to Dutch and Marty Comstock's regional meet next month. July 10-14. Details on the MetalMeet site. Its in Herkimer NY about 4 hours north of you. If you can spend a day or so you'll learn more than you can possibly imagine. I'll be there for the entire meet.

Actually, I'm going to be getting some serious schooling from Wray that weekend.. If nobody else signs up, I have the whole class session to myself..
It's possible that I can swing by on the way back, but we'll have to see how flexible work is going to be. There is a meet in August very close to me - (The racing Museum) I'll get to see some of Hiram Hillegass' work up close and hopefully get to move some metal.
