Hello all. I am a former machinist turned shop teacher from Vancouver. I teach highschool auto and woodshop. I have made some metalshaping tools for the kids at school to use. Kids like to fabricate things out of metal, welding and fabricating works well in auto shop if you don't have room for the entire class to be working on cars. Lots of helpful information on the forums to make things happen!
Thanks Alan |

I had a bit of a chuckle today. I have kids weld up a dice out of 1/8 x 2" aluminum to try TIG welding. I gave the student the aluminum rod, but he thought the stainless rod would work better because it was smaller diameter. Didn't work much better at all! He actually got some of it to stick. Lesson learned.
