Howdy All,
Taking a minute to do my required intro. Found this forum via a couple other related forums and felt it was some thing worth signing up for. I also saw some of MP&C's work in another forum and noticed he was here, so I had to sign up just for the pictures alone. I am currently looking into a project truck (a 70's Long Horn GM Truck) and in my neck of the woods sheet metal repair is just assumed. I am the type of person to jump in head first and learn it as I go, so while I am looking for my truck I decided to do as much reading as possible. There isn't much more I can really nor feel that's needed to be said. I am punk 20 year old kid who's out to do it him self despite how bad of an idea it may be ![]() I look forward to reading many of your threads and hopefully learning as much as I can. Scottie |

Hi Scottie I was a lot younger than you when I started shaping metal- age is no barrier on here. I for one like to see younger people get into learning a craft.

Scottie welcome and thanks for the introduction. It doesn't take much to get started and learn the basics. Thanks for joining us.

Scottie, welcome to the site. I'm flattered you've been eyeing my work, but think you'll find once you look around here that there's some folks that far exceed my abilities. I'm here to hone my skills as well, so I think you'll definitely learn what you need to work on your project. Something else that may be of interest to you is to check your area for any regional meets, look under the events forum. We just had one this past weekend in Northern Virginia, with about 30+ people in attendance, with demos on metalshaping and leading body seams. There are also members who have put together some instructional videos. David Gardiner (look at his link a couple posts up ^^) sells a video that shows how to accomplish quite a bit with mere hand tools. It's 2-1/2 hours long, and well worth the expense to put you on the right track.
