Default Hello from Tampa

Hi everyone. I am a newby metal worker hobbiest. I have been tinkering on my cars and work vehicles for years. I am very good with composite material and decent with wood given my background in paddlesport for 20 years. I have worked for some high end canoe/kayak manufacturers specializing in kevlar and carbon fiber with wood trim. I have been running my own canoe and kayak touring company here in Florida for along time.

I have been wanting to get into metal fabrication for along time but life got in the way to work on the skills. After purchasing and building my first 4x4 a few years ago a I met some guys in the local 4x4 club who helped me with designing and building some armour for my rig and I loved doing it.

I finally took a welding class at my local tech school last fall and now own a Millermatic 185 and have a dynasty 200 dx arriving tomorrow! I met a guy who owns a local fabrication shop who has taken me under his wing so I can work on my tig welding skills. I am also planning on attend one of Ron fourniers workshops in April.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning good fundamentals!

Thanks
Brian
