Hello from me, I'm in South Cheshire, UK, not far south of Manchester. I'm rebuilding an old Vauxhall at the moment which, in common with many Vauxhall cars of the seventies, is quite rusty. So my interest in metal shaping is for making repair sections for my car, mainly because they're very difficult to find. I got a pointer to this forum from the UK-based MIG Welding forum (mig-welding.co.uk) and much of my inspiration for making panels from "tonybmw" on the UK Retro Rides site.

Hello Mike welcome from another UK member. There are a few of us on here from the UK now. You sound like most of the students I get at Colchester institute. There is very little in the way of patch repairs for the old cars in the UK, so many different cars and not enough of the less popular ones being restored to make even small volume production viable. That leaves it to the individual to make what he needs. You will be happy to learn that you don't need a lot of large machines to make patch panels most things can be made using only hand tools.
