Hi, I'm a car fabricator want-to-be trying to build an old car body from scratch out of aluminum (Harry Miller's Streamliner that he never built). Unfortunately, I have no formal training. I'm hoping to find some hints or instruction on wheeling and shaping aluminum panels, and would love to meet with someone local that could provide some guidance.
Take care, Tom T. |

Hello Tom welcome to allmetalshaping. If you want to make a body in aluminium you will need to be able to gas weld if you want to make a good job of it. Wheeling is a small part of the making of any body. It is best to learn on some small projects before undertaking such a big task.

Welcome Tom. I used to live in Tullahoma. Currently just north of Huntsville. I'm building an aluminum car and can probably give you some tips. You just missed a great metal shaping gathering at our shop last month.
