Hey guys. I lurked through here for about 15 minutes before I knew it was somewhere I absolutely needed to be a part of.
My story. I'm Travis. My friends Neall and Tim were sick of working out of sheds, one car garages, and back yards while working on our motorcycles, so about a year ago now we decided to rent a community type space. We currently occupy a 900 sq ft garage space in Ypsi and have around ten members. We share ideas, tools, skills, and the passion for old bikes. The community we've created has blown up on instagram, and we also have a Facebook page. Over the last year we've tried to embrace an outsource nothing mindset, and teach new people that they can in fact work on their old bikes and make them as good as they ever were. I recently taught myself how to work with composites and have built a few carbon fiber parts. I'm here because I want to be a better welder, a better fabricator, and get my hands even deeper into the craft. I'm using a miller 140 Mig right now and also have an acetoline set up. Hopefully, there will be a licoln 175 TIG in the next few weeks. My next project will have an aluminum tank, tail, and upper fairing (think Ducati 750 imola). Do I know how to do any of that? No. That's why I'm here. Can't wait to see the things you folks do and learn from this well established community of fabricators. I don't know if I am allowed to do this or not, but here's a link to our Facebook in case anyone wants to check out the things we've done. www.facebook.com/pages/heartbreak-cycleworks
