Hey, Guys:
I'm a newly retired guy from suburban St. Paul, MN. I've been interested in metal shaping for quite some time, but from a bit of a different perspective. I've got some machine tools and I'm interested in fabricating some of my own metal shaping tools. I'm going to start with a planishing hammer, then an English Wheel, and perhaps then a Helve Hammer. What I'm looking forward to is fabricating my own dies and hammers, as I'd just like to goof around with sheet metal until I get a feel for things. In terms of cars, I've got a couple of Alfa Romeos - a coupe and a spider - and I'm going to have to make some small patch panels for them. Anyway, since this site is associated with so many professionals, and there's so much information her, I figure it's the best place on the Internet to start.
