Hi,
I am a hot rodder with three homes..... ![]() I also have old cars in all three places and very often I need to shape some metal to repair rust or do a modification. I am looking forward to what I can learn here. Right now I am planning a cab stretch on my Willys 1938 pickup truck. You may think it is a shame to cut up a reasonably rare specimen, but you sit like crap in there with you gas knee up in your chin. So, better to ride in comfort than saving a specimen. I have two options for the cut, either behind the door or right in the middle of the door. Both requires some metal shaping. Thanks Bo ![]()

Welcome to AllMetalShaping Bo. This link is some photos of a bunch of work done on Bennett Chapman's 41 Chevy pickup. Top was chopped 2", 4" longer in the doors and 2" wider behind the doors. His cab was pretty rough but the principles are the same.

I BO and welcome!
![]() If you add to the back behind the door I think it would easier. Just support and brace everything before you cut it apart.
