Default Philadelphia Shop Nut

Hello All,

I walked into the machine shop 9th grade year and pretty much never left, I went to school for product design, now teach model making and manage my alma mater's prototyping shop.

As a hobby I'm a furnituremaker, but I also built alot of tools that involve metal, I'm here because I want to spin mini pie pans to bake in, I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for (that's made in the USA of course).

I'm also excited to forge and fabricate the tooling for spinning and hope to, one day, build a dedicated spinning lathe for big bowls and things like that.

I don't see how anyone in their right mind could walk into a machine shop and ever want to leave. I walked into a boat yard on the Chesapeake Bay when I was 23 and that was it. I had 172 dollars to my name but I somehow managed to buy the boat yard and for 15 years I built and repaired wooden boats.

I've got a little more than that and I wish I could manage to buy a shop and work out of it for 15 years. That would be awesome. Thanks for the welcome everyone!
