Hello, this is Alan from Cape Town, South Africa.
I run a small business manufacturing educational equipment in wood and steel. I trained in the Air Force many moons ago as a photographer and have since worked in Engineering, Decking, Playgrounds, Manufacturing, R&D... so yes you could say I have knocked around a bit, haven't done much tin bashing but always looking to learn. I built my own CNC (Mechmate) in 2008 and have been using it since. I am quite proficient in MIG welding and have just picked up a TIG torch for the first time this week (wow, talk about feeling totally clueless ![]() I don't post much unless I have something of value to add or a question to ask (probably will have lots of those) so will see you around.
