Default Hi from Haliburton County, Ontario

Hi,

I'm Pete and I love metal work. I have been welding(mostly MIG) for about 15 years, and would like to improve my metal working skills, specifically, sheet metal for autobody. I have restored quite a few cars over the years, but would really like to be able to shape metal like the old time body guys.

I fell in love with metal shaping at an air show (Sun & Fun) in Florida a couple of years ago. They had lots of tents on the airfield where you could try shaping aluminum for airplanes. I made a cowling, starting with a bag of shot and a hammer, then tried an english wheel and a plenishing hammer. Huge fun, got the bug. Now that I have a bit of a shop at home, I'm keen to get at it.

Cheers

Hi Pete,

Welcome to AllMetalShaping! It's good to see another Ontario member join the group, our numbers around here are growing all the time. Sounds like you got off to a good start with your metalshaping at S&F. Keep us posted on your projects, and post lots of pics!
