Default Hello from the Left Coast

About me -------- I’m a retired mechanical engineer, ex-Silicon Valley. These days I devote myself to my charming and delightful wife, our dachshund, Marci, and my myriad of creative hobbies. Which include the following, none of which I seem to do justice to:
--My Bonneville Salt Flats race car money pit, which likely will never set a record.
--The forever unfinished HOn3 model train layout. Just not enough rainy winter days to get from here to there.
--My home workshop full of metalworking gizmos; only accessible by walking sideways now in the process of expanding to make room for new equipment(MIG, plasma cutter and primitive sheet metal tools)
--Antique hot rods that are always “a few hours” from being roadworthy.
So I was digging around looking for tips on how to build a custom grille shell for a hot rod project and found this forum. Hopefully I will learn some good stuff and can reciprocate by contributing commentaries based on my work background and a pretty decent professional technical library.

Default Thanks you, Peter

Your welcome came with some good bits of info even if they bring spare paying business from my quarter. I'm not sure that I will live long enough to obtain any proficiency working aluminum. But your DVD's are tempting once my budget gets over the investment in the plasma cutter (which is devoted to all the flat steel gussets and firewall pieces of a new roll cage for the Bonneville project)
I'd like to add that your detailed images of all the tools you offer will be useful to me to just visualize the tools that you use.
When I'm ready I will send an inquiry into price and shipping costs.
Thanks again., Ed Weldon, Los Gatos, CA USA
