Well the winter has set in and the garage is not heated, so I virtually working and planning my next few projects.
I have a 1929 Durant D40 very close to a Buick Coach. It's been couple of years of poking around but I finally have a solid plan for the car. I plan on stretching the car and building a full metal roof. The goal is to make my own Canadian version of a Duesenburg. I've searched around here as a guest before but I got tired of not being able to the pictures. Like most I am hoping to learn and share frustrations. Thanks Brian |

Welcome to Allmetalshaping Brian,
Sounds like an interesting project you've got going. I googled up a pic of the 1929 Durant D40, and that model of car looks like a project with lots of potential. I'm from the Hamilton area too, just off Hwy 5 north of the town of Dundas. Ken

thanks for the welcomes. I'll be posting some pics as soon as I remove all the crap off the car,
Here is a pic from another site (not mine, same model) http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/...ker/index.html the plan is to chop about 4 inches from the top, graph in a minivan metal roof, mount the body back 4.5 inches and mount the grill forward about an inch. which should give me enough room for a LS series motor. I am looking for something small like 4.8 or 5.3 with OD tranny. Far cheaper and I don't need the extra HPs. My axles are from a 87 Jag XJ12 which once mounted should lower the car 4-6 inches. I don't have any pics of what I want it to look like. but I am thinking it'll have that long low look. I might even have to widen the body by a few inches to fit the axles. My realistic timeline is 2-3 years for it to be a driver another 2-3 years doing the interior and fit and finish.
