hello. My name is Dave Maxwell from central illinois. I was a memberr here awhile back, but don't have my info or same email account. I work at komatsu building multi ton dump trucks. I own Maxwell's Rod and Custom as a side business I hope to make full time soon. I am an ameteur metal worker. I love working with metal and hope to someday take some classes from the great ones. I am married with two wonderful children. I love tig welding, but am self taught from reading and such so I have alot to learn. I am buildng a 70 F100 tube chassis pro street truck. Has a 588 bbf with air. Custom sheet metal engine bay and bed cover. I have a box pan brake and mittler bead roller. Miller 251 mig and synrowave 200 tig. I have body hammers and stuff. So obviously I have alot to purchase yet. Either be english wheel, planishing hammer or cnc plasma next. Ok I think that sums it up with extras. Rambling along

Welcome from a fellow Peoria area guy. My preference is working on pre WW2 cars, particularly Model T Fords. I am temporarily sidelined on some other jobs right now, but I have plans to build the rear quarter panels for 1926/1927 touring cars.

Dave you'll feel right at home here. I've worked with trucks and heavy equipment for a long time too. Sometimes it's hard to do both. You should post a few pictures of your f100. You making it an extended cab for the familly?

have to get some pics of it up. Haven't touched it in awhile. On third and can't sleep, so I don't have alot of good time to work on it. It's a short bed. Wish it was a galaxie or starliner but to far along to switch. It's been six years of working on it when I have time. Got my business license in jan so I have been working on vendors. Right now I will have everything summit carries. Hope to get back on truck soon. My son was two when I started and now he is eight and I have a three year old daughter. Truck does have a 60/40 front seat from a 2005 F150. Modifying it for harness and such. It will be my mobile business card when done. Custom cage also. Using a hossfeld bender or it.
