Hey! What's up? FNG checking in
Hi to ALL
 Well a little about me I am a A&P mechanic for American airlines. I started working on cars when I was a little guy with dear old Dad side by side for years we always had a project car going on, We worked every day side by side for years. By the time I was 5-6 I knew all my Hand tool sizes sockets and wrenches. Then he got me started on Planes with him starting at age 7 mostly his friends stuff he was an A&P mechanic as well. So any ways fixing mechanical stuff comes easy for me even aircraft sheet metal isn't too bad but Im no expert. But this steel metal working stuff for cars well this is all new too me I got into doing restoration work Paint and body stuff after my Father past away. Well Im learning or trying too any way absorbing every thing I can read on the subject, although I have been at it a while now I am figuring out I dont know squat about the subject! I never had to do this type of work before. Ive always been a Hands on guy but now I have done enough hands on now for a while trying too teach myself its time for some theory because with out Knowledge experience means NOTHING! and Vice Versa. Plus maybe Ill learn what Im doing wrong

Welcome to the site Dennis!. You are right it is hard to learn how to do things on your own, I find the internet the most useful toll I have! If I need to find some information, a tool or some materials I can always find it through the internet!. I wish I had had this when I was starting out!.

Thanks guys
David Your so right about the net its a gold mine of info Im looking forward to learning more here Im more into restoring cars so I need to learn more about making my own Patches for my cars i'm always needing metal know one makes. I been doing OK at straightening metal parts so far learning on my own with hammer and Dolley and my shrinking disk Sorry I didn't get better before picks or picks when I finally finished these are after work began and leave off before I was through this quarter had over 1.5 inches of filler on it after stripping I had no idea there was any damage to this quarter at all till I dug into it      I learnd a lot doing this quarter like how useing my stud gun was a big mistake but heck Im learning and this is not a RR its a clone from a Satellite

I have a bad Handicap for this stuff though my right wrist is done it has been fused solid so the amount of time I can actually swing a hammer is limited so I am looking into building some equipment. I have my own Lathe that will help from the reading I have been doing although I need to fix it and learn how to use it properly plus I have my own drill press and a myriad of other tools mig welder etc.
