hello fellow metal shapers! My name is adam hart and i've been doing metal shaping for about 5 years now. i attended wyotech where i learned to weld and had an intro into shaping. shortly after i attended lazze's 3 day shaping course were my brain got filled with new ideas and great knowledge. i've been working for the past 4 yrs at Wicked fabrication doing mostly street rods. we do rust repair, floors, firewalls, tubs, custom chassis. its been quite a learning experience and i was lucky enough to be a part of a scratch built 1938 alfa romeo 2900b s11 in aluminum that made its first appearance at the quail this year. now im moving on to j and l fabrication to work with vintage race cars and expand my knowledge. i joined the site to learn from masters of there craft and to network with fellow shapers. hopefully some of you can help me find the tools i desperately want and need to be ready to one day open my own shop. those tools are a ranalah english wheel (edwards is good too), a t3 pullmax, 24-36in cp planishing hammer, manual marchant shrinker, and of course a power hammer. hope to

At J&L, get Louie to teach you all he can about welding technique. He used to be one of the best around. Also talk to him and Dan about the wheelchair racers for the Olympians they built 20+ years ago -- most people forget they were involved with those.
Also if you get a chance during lunch hour or immediately after work, head over to Butch's shop on a regular basis for one major project that will be worth watching and you will have interest in. (sorry -- no pics online until post Pebble Beach) I'm sure you saw a lot of this then at Wicked doing the work for David S.: ![]() ![]()
