Default More knowledge

My name is Kory Pappas, I'm 37 and live in Frisco, TX. I have been a motorcycle mechanic and racer for about 15 years now in the DFW metroplex and have recently opened my own shop. I am developing my fabrication skills for race bike builds and even restorations and custom builds as well. I have been mig welding for about 4 yrs and tig welding now for about a full year. There is always so much to know and I love the next challenge. I just stumbled upon this forum and I'm sure there is much I can learn from everyone on here. I am gaining a great deal of knowledge from the machinist I have been working for now for the past 2.5 yrs and I would like to know more about aluminum shaping and the tools and skills needed.
Thanks and have a good day.
Kory.

Hello Kory,

Gas welding is another skill you will want to add to your list if you want to work in aluminium. Other than that you don't need much in the way of tools to get started. I show some gas welding aluminium on my youtube footage.
