Default Hello from So Cal

Hi fellow metal shapers! I'm an autobody and paint instructor at a local community college. I've been doing this type of work since 1976. I have my own shop in Buena Park ( Orange Co.) where I do sheetmetal restoration on antique motorcycles and cars. I've been in this location for the last 15 years, before that in Paramount and Montebello ( 2 Los Angeles suburbs ). I LOVE working sheetmetal! I find it relaxing even when it's killing me with a particularly difficult shape or problem. I tell my students that sheetmetal work is problem solving and you'll never be bored doing this type of work. It will challenge you daily! Nothing ever shapes exactly the same.

Another person from so cal, welcome. Does the college teach just the standard autobody or it have your brought in the metal shaping aspect into it?

Gotta tell ya I am 37 now but when I was 15 my High School paid for my classes and an allowance for materials at a local junior college. So guess what class I took??? Autobody! learned alot, loved it! I have alot of respect, your job teaching is tough.
